What is Lagree?
Lagree is a low impact, high intensity strength training method that emphasizes slow and controlled movement creating time under tension. Tough on the muscles, and easy on the joints! Lagree was created by innovator and CEO of Lagree Fitness, Sebastian Lagree. Lagree Fitness has distinguished itself from every other form of movement, including Pilates, which lacks intensity. The method uses familiar exercises such as planks and lunges, centered on eight principles that have since grown to ten - “The Magic 10”. The Lagree Method will make you shake, sweat, and sore!
What to expect in class.
50 minutes to strengthen, tighten, and tone. Expect to move extremely slow and with control. The slower you go, the harder it will be. By eliminating momentum, you will maximize your muscles time under tension, and build muscle endurance. You can also expect effective duration of each exercise, with each move lasting for 1 minute at the very least. You will sweat, your muscles will shake and the next day you will feel the Lagree difference.
Meet the Mega Pro.
The Mega Pro is a fully patented exercise machine, and the most equipped of Lagree’s Megaformer series.
8 weighted springs, 2 platforms on either side, and a moving platform in the center are used to perform exercises designed to create continuous tension and demand constant engagement from your core.
It’s not Pilates, It’s Lagree
While the Megaformer may visually resemble a Reformer, Lagree is not derived from the practice of Pilates.
It is a distinct method with different goals, structure, and physiological demands.
Lagree is inspired by resistance-based weight training equipment, which does not align with Pilates methodology.
The focus of Lagree is continuous tension, high intensity, muscular strength and muscular endurance, which differs significantly from traditional Pilates.
Cardiovascular Demand. Pilates is not typically a cardiovascular workout. Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact workout that elevates heart rate and challenges the cardiovascular system.
Transitions Between Movements. Lagree minimizes transition time, and maximizes time under tension, to maintain continuous muscle activation and an elevated heart rate.
